MY FAVORITE GEAR ADDITION OF 2019!!

I have tried a handful of other tarps and shelters in my backpacking experiences but all have had something missing. Mountain Ambush hit a home run with this tarp. The tarp is loaded with features, the perfect size, and you cannot beat the price.

    Some of my favorite features:
    – Reinforced stitching at all stress points. I had the tarp stretched out EXTREMELY tight in high winds and all lash points and grommets held strong.
    – Ample amount of lash points, grommets, guy lines, etc… The tarp comes with the guy lines uninstalled which I genuinely enjoyed. This gives the user freedom to
apply the guy lines where they are needed instead of limiting the user to setting up traditional style shelters. I created a Flying-V/X, an A-Frame, a Modified A-Frame,
and something I call the “Taj Mahal.” *** CHECK OUT MOUNTAIN_AMBUSH OR CARLOS.RAFF ON INSTAGRAM FOR PICTURES OF THESE SETUPS.
    – Highly reflective edges all the way around the tarp. And by highly reflective I do mean HIGHLY reflective. (pictures also posted on Instagram.)
    – Fully Taped seams on the interior of the tarp. This thing could handle a monsoon if you set it up correctly.
    – Lightweight stakes included.
    – Overall quality of build without adding extra weight.

I know this is a pretty lengthy review but as an outdoor gear enthusiast I find the generic “good piece of gear” or “would recommend” review a little annoying… I hope this helps make your decision on your next outdoor bivy tarp a little bit more informed and easier.

Hammock campers, backpackers, bivy artists, hunters, survivalists, or just people who want to set us some shade outside… You gotta try this. It’s a no-brainer.

    100% SATISFIED.

Lightweight and durable are hard to achieve in the same package but Mountain Ambush did it with this tarp. I am not easy on any of my gear. I have to constantly send items back for repairs or buy different brands but I have a feeling this will be my go to tarp and shelter from now on. I’ve used it in so many different applications this far from a shelter, a ground cloth, a rain fly, and to cast shade over my seat in the summer. This thing lives in my pack now and I plan on getting another one to live in the pickup.
